With this rental contract, the company Ippos Rent A Car leases to the undersigned Lessee the vehicle listed on the first page hereof, which fully meets the Lessee’s preferences, under the following terms and conditions:
The Lessee confirms that they received the vehicle after verifying that it is in excellent condition in every respect. The Lessee must return the vehicle in the same condition as received, together with all tools, wheels, and accessories, except for any specific points noted and written on the first page hereof.
If the Lessee does not return the vehicle to the specified location and to an authorized employee of the lessor company Ippos Rent A Car, the vehicle shall be considered abandoned, with the corresponding legal consequences in the event of damages or monetary debt to the company.
This contract specifies the rental period. If the Lessee wishes to extend the rental, they must notify the company at least 24 hours prior to the initially agreed return time. The lessor company reserves the inalienable right to terminate this contract without consequences if it deems that the Lessee is acting against the interests of the company, fails to comply with road traffic regulations, or violates the terms of this contract.
During the rental period, the Lessee is obliged to protect the vehicle and regularly check its mechanical condition, including oil, water, and other fluids, as well as the condition of the tires, ensuring that the vehicle remains safe to drive.
The Lessee is responsible for and obliged to compensate the company for any damages resulting from the use of the vehicle.
The Lessee is obliged to pay for the fuel during the rental period and to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as at the time of delivery. The company Ippos Rent A Car is under no obligation to refund any excess fuel remaining in the vehicle.
The lessor company is not responsible for the loss or damage of the customer’s personal belongings left in the vehicle, whether before, during, or after the rental period.
When the vehicle is not in use, the Lessee must take every possible measure to prevent theft of the vehicle or any of its parts.
The lessor company has made every reasonable effort and taken all necessary precautions to prevent mechanical failure of the vehicle and shall not be held responsible for any damage, directly or indirectly, arising from improper or negligent use by the Lessee.
The Lessee is obliged to pay, in total, the following:
a) Delivery and collection charges, if applicable to this contract
b) Daily rental charges and mileage charges
c) Insurance charges in case of acceptance of limited insurance coverage
d) The applicable tax percentage corresponding to the above amounts
e) In the event of delayed return of the vehicle, a grace period of up to 30 minutes is allowed. After the first 30 minutes of delay, 50% of the daily rental charge shall be applied.
During the rental period, the vehicle must not be used:
a) In violation of this contract
b) To transport passengers or goods for remuneration
c) To transport more passengers than permitted by the vehicle’s license
d) To transport heavy, dangerous, illegal goods, or drugs
e) To tow another vehicle or trailer

h) By any person without prior authorization from the lessor company
i) For any purpose contrary to Greek law
j) Outside the island of Crete without the written permission of the lessor company
The Lessee shall be charged an additional cleaning fee if, upon return, the vehicle requires more extensive cleaning than normal. The amount of the charge shall correspond to the cost invoiced by the cleaning service provider selected by the company.
The Lessee is responsible for any violations of the traffic code and is obliged to pay all fines and penalties incurred during the rental period, even if such amounts are imposed after the end of the rental.
A) Basic Coverage:
The vehicle is insured only with third-party liability insurance, coverage for damages caused by an uninsured vehicle, restoration of material damages solely caused by third parties, personal accident insurance for the driver, and roadside assistance. The Lessee is fully responsible for any other damage to the rental vehicle.
B) Partial Damage Waiver:
Includes the above coverage and additionally theft and fire insurance.
For vehicle categories B, DH, and E, the excess is €800.
For vehicle categories G and K, the excess is €950.
This coverage is valid provided that the Lessee complies with Greek traffic regulations, particularly those concerning alcohol consumption and drug use.
Excluded from all insurance coverage are: the vehicle interior, accessories, tires, mirrors, windows, and the underside of the vehicle.
C) Full Damage Waiver:
Under this option, the Lessee is not required to pay any additional amount.
Insurance coverage does not apply to damages caused by driving on beaches or off-road routes. Driving in such areas is entirely at the Lessee’s own risk, and the Lessee is obliged to compensate the company for all resulting damages. An additional daily charge shall apply in accordance with the company’s applicable tariff.
The Lessee who accepts the insurance by signature is responsible for any accident involving passengers traveling with them, and Ippos Rent A Car bears no liability in such cases.
Each insurance coverage is valid up to the maximum compensation amount specified in the vehicle’s insurance policy, which is available at the headquarters of Ippos Rent A Car. The Lessee is fully responsible for any damages or compensation exceeding these limits.
These terms form an integral part of the main contract and are confirmed by the Lessee’s signature on the first page hereof.
